Born again (John 3:3) first part of 1990, God was convicting me of my sin in 1989. The Holy Spirit showed me this was my last chance, my death was imminent if I didn’t repent (John 16:8-13; Luke 13:3, 5; 2 Cor 7:10)
The Lord Jesus used Sunday school memory verses like John 3:16 to help save my life. Also the prayers and witnessing from family and friends.
Jesus Christ changed my all consuming focus of myself, to a humbling of myself befor Him, which has radically changed how I think, talk, walk and react. The Bible is my blueprint for my life and decision making. Winning souls and making disciples is very important and should be practiced by all Christians (2 Cor 5; Matt 28:18-20). Loving God will make this possible (Mk 12:29-31; John15; 1st, 2nd & 3rd John). This is my desire, to love God with all my heart (pure motive), soul, mind and strength, by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom 5:1-11) and the finished work of Jesus Christ. To love God unconditionally and each other is a work of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5). This challenge must be met on a day to day basis (Rom 12:1-3). Our Christian walk is to be in every area of our lives, 24/7. Read the Bible and do what it says, everyday (Matt 7:21-29).
After my conversion I began going to church, reading the Bible and praying. God delivered me from alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality and the lifestyle that comes with it. My Christian life is totally different from the life I lived previously.
